JK Rowling is a very successful author who had to battle issues such as poverty, depression, and failure in her career. But she used the failure in her life to reinvent herself and attempt things differently than before. She claims that even when reaching the lowest point of one's life, failure in one's life can be used as motivation or knowledge of how to succeed. This is occurs especially in America where motivation or hard work towards success is highly rewarded considering the class mobility in this country. Failure should not be seen as negative but rather be seen as a positive way for one to move forward or reach their goals. This is evident in The Cather in the Rye where Holden Caulfield changes his attitude toward reaching his goals after failing in many areas such as in school for most of his life. And I strongly agree with her assertion, because when considering many of the most successful people in America, many of them admit that in order to find their success they failed many times first.
